UPCOMING EVENTS:
John Abercrombie Quartet Dinner Concert
Tuesday, October 5th
6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
On Tuesday, October 5th, Mount Vernon Country Club is privileged to present the John Abercrombie Quartet in a rare Colorado performance. The guitarist has been recording for the esteemed ECM label for more than 30 years. His associations with the likes of Charles Lloyd, Jack DeJohnette, Kenny Wheeler, Jan Garbarek and Dave Liebman are amongst the approximately 50 recordings on ECM that include John's unique voice. Abercrombie has performed at Mount Vernon Country Club with Charles Lloyd along with the late/legend, drummer, Billy Higgins. He still sees himself as a player in the jazz guitar tradition of Wes Montgomery and Jim Hall with influences of both Ornette Coleman and Bill Evans.
His quartet has been a partnership of at least 10 years with violinist, Mark Feldman. Joining John and Mark are bassist, Mark Johnson and drummer, Joey Baron. For this evening of music you can expect exceptional improvisation within the framework of extremely sensitive interplay. Truly a rare opportunity to hear these master musicians, make your reservations early.
As usual a delicious buffet dinner will precede the concert beginning at 6:00 p.m. The concert will start at 8:00 p.m. The price for dinner and concert is $45.95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Concert only seating is available for $18.00.
